Oliver Smith Recruitment are working in partnership with our key client in Glasgow to recruit a Tax Manager on a permanent basis.

Working with a team of dedicated professionals, you’ll be responsible for leading the international tax agenda, contributing to business projects, in particular assisting in providing advice on new international routes to markets, acquisitions, and integration of acquired business.

The Manager will report to the Tax Director, and will be responsible for assisting with our clients tax compliance and provision matters. This a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in an extremely dynamic, diverse, and fast-paced environment.

  • Responsible for overseeing the preparation of all required corporate income tax returns and associated calculations / workpapers in assigned jurisdictions
  • Responsible for overseeing the preparation of all required VAT tax returns in assigned jurisdictions
  • Assist with quarterly and year end tax provision workings, both for local country financial statement preparation and the global US GAAP audited financial statement
  • Assist with calculating and making corporate income tax and VAT payments, and monthly account reconciliations
  • Supporting the US and European input into the US and Global Consolidated tax provision process.
  • Work closely with Finance/Accounting teams of tax related matters for statutory financial statement filings and audit
  • Manage Senior Accounting Officer (SAO) and SOX compliance and procedures
  • Understand systems requirements related to income tax and VAT; monitor changes.

Here Is What You Need

  • ACA/ACCA/CTA qualification
  • Relevant tax experience in a public accounting firm and/or multi-national company
  • Knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP
  • Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Highly organized with the ability to efficiently and accurately manage competing priorities and internal and external deadlines
  • Positive attitude and dependable team player with strong attention to detail

Tax Accountant

Reporting to the Tax Director, the main purpose of this role is to assist with corporate tax, VAT and transfer pricing.

Your Role

  • Prepare monthly corporation tax calculations for UK, US and Europe
  • Produce calculations for tax payments due to be paid to Tax Authorities
  • Assist in documentation and update of Corporation Tax procedures and calculations
  • Preparation of the VAT returns on quarterly/monthly basis
  • Assist in finance team projects
  • Prepare monthly group transfer pricing journals
  • Assist in the annual audit process and deal with any relevant audit queries

This is an end-to-end payroll role in which you will have exposure to the whole payroll process from setting up new employees all the way through to the HMRC submissions.

 

This role reports directly into the Head of Finance and will look after the payroll for over multiple different sites. They have a strong emphasis on their people and offer some great benefits within this role.

 

Duties:

  • Manage a small payroll team to ensure staff are paid in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Ensure all HMRC reporting requirements are met.
  • Ensure that any new sites are implemented correctly.
